One more picture-less update, and then it's back to the art blogging of art! I'd just like to congratulate all my fellow Academy of Art graduates, the talented folks who displayed their work at the annual Spring Show, and the mighty art monsters who earned awards for the sheer awesomeness of their work.
So congrats to Dusty, Allen, Mónico, Helice, Veronica, Brenna, Danielle, Miguel, Akane, Phil, Joshua, Ray, Samuel, Tu, Urbano, Renee, Cody, and Chih-Shuo; here's hoping that Frank, Konstantin, Chris, and George didn't sustain permanent injuries while toting home their armfuls of awards; and extra special kudos to multimedia genius Eriko for her category-defying "Director's Choice" award.
(If you're looking for my own award-winning contribution, for some reason it seems to be missing from the official online gallery, but you can see it on my personal site right here.)

Outta Site
Whew! Just finished a humongous overhaul of www.ultimatemark.com. Lots of new artwork, shiny new gallery interface... same old splash page scribble, at least for now, but I'll fix that next.
EDIT: Julie urged me to go with a different self-portrait as a placeholder, so there it is. I'll swap in a shiny new one soon.

Begin Next Phase!
I'm done with classes, so it's next stop: graduation! I'll be spending the next few days prepping for the Academy's Spring Show, assembling my portfolio, finishing my web site revamp, et cetera. In the meantime, I've added a whole bunch of my fellow students (or former students) to the links list on the right - not that I'm stalking all you guys, you understand, I'm just trying to encourage my readers to stalk you. :-)
And finally, here's the finished version of the piece previewed below. For Frank's benefit, I'll note that this is supposed to be a magazine illustration, not an ad, so the logo on the bottle isn't really important. For Elisa, I took your advice and replaced the cookie-cutter Photoshop stars. It occurs to me that this image seems kind of apropos for my last-ever student project. Salut, cheers, so long, be seeing you!

Girls Girls Girls (and Dodo)
One more week of school, sob! Then comes graduation and whatnot. In the meantime, here are a couple of final projects in various states of completion. This one's all done:
And this one's still in the rough draft stage. Let's see if I can channel a little bit of Frank Lin magic, and jazz up the perfume spray with a prismatic kaleidoscope of pretty sparkles:
